What happens to my data after retirement?
Your Project Online data will remain accessible until the retirement date. After that, you’ll need to migrate or export your projects, schedules, and reporting data to ensure continued access.
No. Project Online will remain available until its official retirement on September 30, 2026. Microsoft has stated there will be no early shutdown, so customers can continue using the service while planning their transition.
No. Microsoft Project desktop (MPP files) is not impacted by this retirement. Only the cloud-based Project Online service is being retired.
No. Planner is not affected. Planner is part of Microsoft’s recommended future work management tools and will continue to be supported and enhanced.
